Battered

by Kelly Katherine   Mar 26, 2006

He needs me
My role is critical for his survival, his well-being
I supply something that no one else can give
I fill a void in his empty life

He loves me
My mind knows I can survive, no matter what
I provide the fuel that keeps him alive
I fill a need that sustains his life

He wants me
My feet never try to run from him, even though
I sometimes wish I could rest for a moment
I must keep on so that he can keep on

He throws me
My flesh bounces off the wall, bones crunch
I furnish a curled-up body for him to pummel
I remain silent so that he can continue

He cradles me
My bruised cheeks are smothered in kisses
I render myself without question to him
I am important and my function is essential

He needs me
He wants me
He loves me

I am needed
I am wanted
I am loved
