Onion Skinned

by Pilar   Mar 26, 2006

I took the knife and pressed it among my skin
As I peeled it off I forced a grin
Maybe now there's a new me underneath
I'll uncover what sprung from beneath
My eyes died back
I realized, of my life I lost track
There's something wrong inside,
I'm stained from side to side
Condemned to wander among what's dead
Sickening scenes spinning inside my head
I tried to sew the wounds, but runned out of thread
Doodling words while paper's seducing my pen
Afraid of reading what they have to say
To revive what once took me away
Within the calm of sleep let me stay
I won't make any move, you won't hear a sound
I'll make use of your gun as my heart's shot down
As every heart beat lays still on the ground
Don't look for me, I don't deserve to be found

Really good poem. Couple of grammatical errors but nothing that wasn't overcome by the greatness of the poem.
