The War And Peace Of Love

We are sent to fight on a distant shore.
Most of us have never even been there before.
Some of us fight because we love war.
Others of us fight because we could not ignore.

We stand side by side from all walks of life.
Most of us contend within ourselves this strife.
Some of us left children and a loving wife.
Others of us are very good with a knife.

We fight to protect our family so they can free,
Most of us came from proud families with histories.
Some of us came from wars at home with misery.
Others of us came so that we could be in the infantry.

We unite in a common cause to fight the foe.
Most of us believe in honor so we go.
Some of us believe in freedom that we know.
Others of believe that justice can grow.

We defend not only ourself but what we believe to be true.
Most of us that fight would fight for you.
Some of us will not come back paying their dues.
Others will fight forever and will always be blue.
