A raven sits on a fence post
Looking at the world from his view
His yellow eyes rest upon my face
He cocks his head to the side
He looks at me with forgiveness in his eyes
I look at him with hatred in mine
I know what he wants, I know what he thinks he is going to get
I take a few steps back and prepare to run
I am not ready for what is about to happen
My heart a steady beat, my legs a stinging tingle
I run for my life, not once looking back
I turn down a road that soon turns into gravel
I slip on the rocks and scrape my knee
The blood drips out as my heart crumbles
I try to catch my breath but I feel claws around it
Choking the life out of me
I want to escape, I want to break free
But nothing ever comes so easily
You love me, you hurt me, you kill me
But never any regrets for what you do
The words come knocking at my mouth
But I never open the door
All bottled up inside they become
Until the day that it happens, the day that will determine
Where do you stand with me?
