Within Me

by Laura Ash   Mar 27, 2006

There is a girl that you can't see
The one that doesn't know who she could be
This girl inside is hiding from everything
This girl can't feel anything
So much pain has held her numb
And death keeps telling her to come
She ignores it with all her might
She walks miles until she sees the light
She runs from the blade
Trying to let the tears fade
Sitting, waiting, listening to the rain
Why it's happening this girl can't explain
She looks in the mirror and watches her tears
She turns off the light and faces her fears
She keeps working so she can be strong
She won't let this disaster last very long
This girl will fix every sin
This girl is me within

Great poem. I love the whole feel of it and all the emotions put into it. I know from experience how hard it is to write about that kind of pain and it's not easy getting the point forth without it sounding a little clique.. This poem, I think, is pure emotions and no clique at all. Love it.
