Just A Breath

Together in likeness
We are the same
Striving for blissfulness
No trophies to claim

We try and we fall
Nothing puts us ahead
On our knees we crawl
Following after He who bled

Try and defeat me
But you will not win
We are the same you see
Because of our sin

You could be best
At something I'm not
But you're just like the rest
God's all we've got

Nothing but a vapor
Smoke in the air
With blood on paper
Our lives He did spare

Because of His grace
Another chance we are given
As He perished in that place
Our faults were forgiven

So now you think you have won
But really you've fallen short
You're burdens must weigh a ton
So look to God for support

I'm not your foe
Do not cause my death
This you must know
Together, we are just a breath
