She wouldnt show them
but i knew they were there
the bruises that spelled out
"my husband doesnt care"

he would hit her
till she wasnt aware
everyone told her to leave him
but she wouldn't dare

she wouldnt go swimming
because of what people might think
the bruises left
from when her husband would drink

he cheats on her when shes not around
she'll smile at him but he'll just frown

if she talks to another guy
she'll regret it
he'll hit her till she'll cry
so she'll never forget it

but one day he went a bit to far
he hit her so hard
it became a scar

since that night she's
had troubles trying to sleep
she'll wake up in the morning
and continue to weep

finally one day she had enough
yelled out,"f.u.c.k you
does hitting women make you feel tough?!"

she said such hateful things
and he deserved it
this is for 9 years
of not giving a s.h.i.t

then one afternoon
he was on the couch getting drunk
she had all her stuff packed
and was putting it in the trunk

got into her SUV
and all she could do was think
