You are forever and eternally my bestfriend

by Katie   Mar 29, 2006

We knew each other from the sixth grade,
we only talked on occasion,
you had your best friend I had mine,
you knew yours and I knew mine,
I felt overwhelmed your best friend was dying of a brain tumor.

Then that awful day May 24, 2004 she passed away quietly in her sleep. You cried on my shoulder and I gave you feelings from the heart. That day a bond formed and we grew ever closer.

That summer we became even closer and entered high school together.

We grew apart ever so slightly,
but, I always came back,
my best friend had chosen a life of drugs and sex,
I fell back and became a leader not a follower,
I cried, I screamed, I was hurt my best friend who I had grown up with had shunned me,

But, you were always there I cried on your shoulder as you had done mine.

I was alone and you excepted me into your group, I felt welcomed and cared for,
I knew I could never replace your best friend,
but, I knew you saw me as someone close and special to you,
she is looking down at you from heaven watching you grow up,
a chance she never got.

I love you girl. You are forever and eternally my best friend.
