Goodbye

by Lady in Red   Mar 29, 2006

There she sat her head in her hands
Tears fell with broken dreams and plans
She then got up and dried her eyes
And told herself to move ahead
But she couldn't forget what you said
"I never thought I'd say goodbye
But here I am saying this
I thought without you I would die
But we said it all when we kissed."
A crooked smile that implied pain
She bit her lip as her vision blurred
So much she'd thought she'd gain
And now only silence is heard
Her feet kick the autumn leaves
As she walks the empty corridor
Now she know she can't believe
In anything, anymore
She sings a lullabye
Before she goes to sleep
No longer does she cry
Nothing will make her weep
After you said goodbye
