I long

by Julia   Mar 30, 2006

I long for the sunny days with innocence and joy.
I long that my heart will not be treated as a toy.
I long for a symbol of hope amongst all of the mess.
I long for a guardian that destroys all distress.
I long for the early bliss, without the black and blue.
I long for the days before I laid my eyes on you.
I long for the days without the drama and the fear.
I long for the days that seem to no longer be near.

The things I long for every moment bring me pain without,
The things I long for give me sight of what life is about.
Without the things I long for Iâ??ve lost sight of what is right,
Without the things I long for sunny days donâ??t seem that bright.

Iâ??ve almost grown accustomed to the pain of life and death,
Iâ??ve almost grown accustomed to shivering and cold breath,
Iâ??ve almost grown accustomed to the creature they call change,
Iâ??ve almost grown accustomed to my life among the strange.

But almost isnâ??t there yet, and I seem to shrink away,
From the things I must take charge of, and the things among the fray,
Iâ??m leaning, reaching out my hands, about to reach my goal,
But one unbalanced move and Iâ??m back to my own parole.

A veil of blurry confusion blocks out the map of choice,
Someone has snatched away my mind and already weak voice,
The love of which I had of life is tossed away in vain,
The things I long for deeply shall never be seen again.
