The Darkness

by Sarah Dowlly   Mar 30, 2006

I lie awake upon my bed
Pain, confusion, darkness in my head
The torment never leaves, the scars run deep
My mind races, while my body longs for sleep.

I cant go on feeling this way
Make it stop, I hope, I pray
Ashamed by misery, I yearn for clues
As to the cause of my unholy blues.

Consumed by darkness, my thoughts now a blur
Beneath the surface, the demons stir
laughing, pointing, mocking my pain
As though my anguish is one big game.

Dominated by grief, is my wretched mind
Longing for peace, I know i wont find
Loneliness is fatal, the cause of my demise
I'm powerless against it no one hears my cry.
