Where Dead Crows Rest.

by Steven Beesley   Mar 31, 2006

Where Dead Crows Rest:

Ripples of the past, now
a tsunami come flooding back.
Memories of long ago whitewashed
returning in a swift backwash.
Agony akin to the sewing of
stitches on a gapping wound.
Dormant hatred bubbling to
the brim to quickly overflow.
Like a pebble in a sandstorm,
my sight blinded and full of hurt.
Seeing a bloody moon through
these bloody eyes, the night is
frigid as is this soul.
My tongue filled with the taste of
disdain, a devoid mind where
dead crows rest.

    Steve,

there is so much difference reading your latest pieces of work and the ones that you did long before.

i don't really know what has hurt you so much, but I do know that even this will pass.

I do really hope writing has made you feel better in some way. i wrote something for you:

    Elixir

Words pierce the mind like needled arrows
Scathing each blank piece of white they rest on
It is easy to see the pain rise from within
For each letter cries for a shoulder to lean on.

Your entire world seems bleak; no sun, no rain
Just a darkened, grey canvass that stretches far beyond
Where even a simple smile struggles to be painted
Where the tears awash each effort to travel beyond

Weep if you must, for each tear will drench wounds
That your dementors so delightfully feed upon
For in that miracle salty elixir, lies the key to your life,
The colours you will need to paint your canvass on.

And finally, when precious rains are shed from your eye
And lie wet on those sturdy shoulders you cry on,
You will once again rise phoenix-like from those ashes
Those ashes of sorrow that your life has tread upon.

When your eyes dry and you wake up, you will find
Those strong shoulders you have always relied upon
Are no longer just white, but radiant with hope,
And show you the path, filled with bright from now on.

take care, for friends are always there.

    best wishes
