Black Heart

by Lenny   Mar 31, 2006

Oh cursed one,
Oh man Ive wronged,
You poor, poor fool,
Fell into trap,
Trap that never meant,
Such harm,

Oh cursed knight,
How many betrayals?
How many wrongs?
Before you see,

Oh cursed knight,
Forgive, forgive,
Forget, forget,
And love another,

If only, if . .

If not you were,
Already in trap,
If only release,
Had not rusted,
Rusted in,
So many tears,

And if only your heart,
Belonged to another,
And not to me,
Not to this trap,

Oh cursed knight,
Of my black, black heart,
You poor, poor fool,
Fool that Ive wronged,

I beg forgive,
This black, black heart,
This rusted trap,
And save those tears,

Save those tears,
For better days,
For sadder nights,
And harsher crimes,
Save precious tears,
And precious love,
For a heart that is,
Not blackest black.

Certainly interesting. but i feel that the constant repetition takes away from the poem. also it isnt clear to me what as happened. but love the last stanza. its soo perfect. nice.
