The earth stood still,
for only a moment
when our kisses reached for
the sky
and my heart jumped in my throat
a strong high
but when our lips tore apart
my lip bled
onto the soft soil and earth
brown stained with red
and suddenly the ground ripped apart
like my brain, my heart
until there was nothing
to feel, to claim
and in the silence once more,
only destruction
and a meaningless stain
