She's a Star

by christina   Mar 31, 2006

Her eyes shone like stars
through the blackened scars
She hid her tears
and buried her fears
She watched the sun rise
and with it her heart shine
For a brand new day
a chance to get away
By the children she was teased
For her appearance they weren't pleased
And when she went home
Her father wouldn't leave her alone
He beat constantly
Until she begged mercifully
She ran to her room
to escape the doom
She lifts her eyes
and with it her soul flys
Letting her mind wander to a place
That her pain it would erase
So she would become that star
So distant and so far
She went to school the next day
Battered in so many ways
Traveled home to her dad
He beat her this time too bad
That she journeyed high
to be that star in the sky.
