Like a rose

by yoursforevermore   Mar 31, 2006

You're like a rose in the garden of a heart
beautiful, delicate, and lovely right from the start
I gave you love and whatever you desired
your beauty and your heart i so greatly admired
i cared for you and protected you from all the pain.
and showered you with my love like a spring rain.
but now your thorns are ripping into my heart
and tearing it completely apart
your vines are slowly squeezing the life from me
i fall to my knees and try to make my last plea
please just love me like you did before
and be my beautiful rose once more
you planted that seed of love in my garden
and have grown under my skin
your roots are so deep within my soul and mind
and you my rose is all that i can find
so take your thorns out of me
and open your eyes so you can see
that you're the rose planted in my garden
for all eternity.
