The Cookie Craving

by Serena   Jan 28, 2004

I awaken at night with a burning desire,
Something is calling like an unquenched fire.
I step out of bed and onto the floor,
My cookie cravings have come to haunt me once more.
I can almost smell their luring aroma,
If I don't get them soon I'll lapse into a coma!
Those chewy chocolate chip cookies are crying to me
Their sweet, scrumptious shape I'm long to see.
My life without them is a morbid black pit...
Its a good thing I only like them a bit.
Closer...and closer..I'm almost there.
I keep them well hidden so I don't have to share.
As I walked in the kitchen I expected to find,
Those luscious little loves that linger on my mind.
But as I reached for the jar and looked inside,
My jaw dropped down and my mouth opened wide.
I searched every inch like a ferocious hound,
But my mouth-watering morsels were no where to be found.
Yet..if someone ate them who could it be...
Now I remember...I think it was....ME!?!

*Just to let everyone know this was an English assignment...I don't normally write about food :)
