Sneaking Up On You

by Dee   Apr 1, 2006

My love is sneaking up on you
when you least expect it
Standing at the alter
Don't say "I do"
You will just regret it

When you stand before your friends
And all your family
You will probably look at her
And pretend that she is me

Even if she is prettier
Or if she treats you better
There is no erasing me
And the love we shared together

We had so many memories
Our love was meant to last
We had an intermission
But that was in the past

We both felt a connection
Just six months ago
A short conversation
Made our emotions flow

Despite where we came from
Or where we have been since then
Our love is too strong
For us to just give in

Let us run away together
And spend just one day
To see if we can bridge the gap
That leads us back to yesterday

If we can reminisce
And still walk away
Without teardrops in our eyes
I will set you free today

I will let you go
And realize that we are through
But if we can connect again
I will never give up on you

Before you close the book
on our love for good
Make sure you cannot forgive me
And rekindle our love
