When I Say Goodbye

by CarissalRADIOFACEl   Apr 1, 2006

I never knew what to say
and I never knew what to do
But I know everytime I said, "Goodbye"
I really meant, "I love you."

I said, "goodbye" a million times
and, still you never knew
that everytime I said, "goodbye"
I really meant, "I love you."

You ran to me so often
and held me when I'd cry
I never knew when you said, "I love you"
you really meant, "Goodbye."

You told me so many times, "I love you"
and picked me up so I could fly
Little did I know when you said, "I love you"
you really meant "goodbye"

Wow, this is heartrendingly tocuhing. I can totally relate to this poem, and am drawn into it deeply. it really made me think, which is what all good poetry should do. And the repetitions at the ned of each set of verses, really lights up your feelings for all to be swept away by. Another great piece!
