Sharp Blade

by 111308   Apr 1, 2006

Look at the young girl crying in the corner,
She's reaching for her only friend,
The only friend who is the sharp blade,
She takes the blade and runs it slowly across her wrists,
She sees the sparkling crimson blood empty her body and land on the floor,
She doesn't know what to do the pain is so unbearable,
But at least it soothes her soul,
If you'd listen you could hear her crying for help.
She's asking for someone to save her,
But no one comes,
She's lying there almost unconsious,
And she's losing lots of blood,
And she's losing it fast,
She can hear a faint knock on the door,
Then her mom enters,
She sees her only daughter lying on the floor,
She calls the ambulance,
The young girl wakes up,
She looks around,
The nurse looks at her and says she will be o.k,
She doesn't want to be o.k,
She wants to be dead,
She's alone and depressed,
And she can't take this world anymore,
Weeks maybe even months past,
She's back in the same corner again,
Crying with pain,
She reaches again for the only the only friend she has,
The only friend she can trust,
This time she cuts deeper than before,
And the blood is spurting out,
Flowing like a river,
Everywhere....
It's going everywhere,
She's slipping away,
And shes starting to feel everything floating away,
She died that day,
She finally found her peace she had been longing for,
She took her life that day because she couldn't stand the PAIN..

Hey doll I'm a total fan. your poems are so bluntly accurate, you capture the very essence of what self Harm is all about. you are so talented. feel free to email me for a random chat. or to talk about anythin. i think sometimes you can be a lot more open with strangers. or add me to msn if you have it. same goes for anyone else.

    thanks for the comments

I like this poem, it tells a sad, but true too often story. Brittany obviously just doesn't understand what it feels like in that sort of posistion... Take care and thanks for commenting on my poem,
