Killing Game

by No Need For A Name   Apr 2, 2006

Down on their life
Is a mark there
Full of tears
And swelling pain
They sign up
To through it away
They never
Demonstrate

(Chorus)
And the worlds to blame
For all the tragedy
And this killing game
Will never fade away
It will never change
Except for many fates
And this killing game
Only makes hate

And the wise men
Fall before us
As the poor men
Fall behind
For all the butterflies
In the world
Could never
Stop this fight

Create your horror
From the guns drawn
Have a make-shift
Tomb stone
For out here
In this nightmare
This civilized wilderness
You are never coming home

(Chorus)
And the worlds to blame
For all the tragedy
And this killing game
Will never fade away
It will never change
Except for many fates
And this killing game
Only makes hate

This killing game won't play much longer
Can't let the peace grow stronger
For you would lose your power hunger
That can't happen you won't bother
To stop the killing game
To end this worldwide strain

(Chorus)
And the worlds to blame
For all the tragedy
And this killing game
Will never fade away
It will never change
Except for many fates
And this killing game
Only makes hate

These were fantastic lyrics. I love how each verse seemed to be it's own, a short story even only connected by the well written chorus'.

The "Killing Game" as you describe it, was an appropriate name and phrase. It was a strong diction, again your ability to talk about something sad without the sorrow, but an even deeper sense of anger is amazing. It almost seems like your trademark to me and I absolutely love that idea.

Next this Killing Game idea is simple, like a War amongst ourselves and you were able to describe the anger, hate and _pain_ in all of this wonderfully. Flawlessly even. Your chorus was wonderfully constructed, a repeated verse that was powerful and whole in it's idea.

    "And the wise men
    Fall before us
    As the poor men
    Fall behind
    For all the butterflies
    In the world
    Could never
    Stop this fight"

^This was my favourite verse, I love how you described falling before and behind us. And then, the butterflies. Whenever I imagine butterflies, it's enchanting, whether it's a beautiful simplistic kind of beauty or a demonic one. It can easily be described as both. And yet you say they "Cannot Stop this fight" which was a very good idea. It's hard to explain exactly how I feel about it, but it seems that you mean something like all these little beauties and pleasures just don't stop everything cruel about this world.

  • AMAZING song. i love this one. the concept is great, and your interpretation of it is awsome. some clever wordplay in this. i really like the chorus and the second and third verses, particularly well written.
    awsome job, keep it up!
