Vampires duty

by roisin   Apr 2, 2006

I yank your head back by your hair
Your neck smooth and pink in the moonlight
The thought of blood behind that skin
The urge to bite is so immense
The thirst for blood is beyond control

My sharp teeth sink into your flesh
I can taste your sweet blood
Streaming into my mouth
Your cries, your struggles
Just make it more enjoyable

Your body goes limp
I have sucked you dry
I stand back and let you fall to the ground
Your skin which was once pink is now deathly white

Your head falls back revealing your teeth
They’re noticeably sharper than before
I wipe your blood of my lips
Then retreat into the darkness
My duty complete

It was okay...not really that great for a vampire poem. Some nice imagery but still there's this sorta lack of emotion or hook that brings a reader into it. Okay but not great. Still the imagery had been really strong.
