My name is Shelby Lynn
I am only age fifteen.
I've lost a lot of loved ones.
I've lost a lot of dreams.

I do not have a mother
For she sadly passed away.
That night still haunts my happy dreams.
It hurts me everyday.

I have an older brother.
I hold him dear to heart.
Though we weren't always loving,
He's been my idol from the start.

I have a bestest friend.
She has to move away.
No, I won't always see her,
But she'll be with me everyday.

I live with my dear Grandma.
She loves me more than life.
I could not live without her,
Although I cause her lots of strife.

My family is extended.
I have many step sisters and brothers.
I love them all to pieces,
My "step" father and mother.

I do not have a father
Though he still lives today.
He likes to drink a lot.
There's not much more to say.

I have a mental illness.
It just wrecks my life.
I'm fighting to control it.
I no longer look to the knife.

I need my friends and family
To make it through each day.
