Will You Remember Me?

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Apr 3, 2006

You stand in the darkness of the corner
Silhouetted against the light
Your arms crossed over your chest
Your legs straight down to the ground
Your head is cocked to the side
Your glance is faced in my direction
I can hear your whispers in the silence of the night
Telling me how beautiful I am
How much I mean to you
How you care about me
And the three words I longed to hear
I walk over to you, entwine my fingers in yours
You look up at me, light shining to your cheek
You lean forward and press your lips ever so gently against mine
I remember how it had happened
My fast beating heart that night
Beating like there was no tomorrow
I went home and cried myself to sleep
I had not even seen your face
Every time I see your name on that list
A smile goes to my face
The distance is there, but it will fade in time
This summer, we will spend every waking hour together
Doing things we'd always dreamt of doing
We will walk along the beach, sand between our toes
Shores splashing up and hitting against our ankles
Lay down on the blanket we brought
And watch the sun set over the horizon
I will fall asleep in your arms; wake up in your embrace
A smooth kiss on my forehead
A sweet set of words in my ear
"I love you" is all that I long to hear
so step into the light and let me see your face
before I depart, will you remember me?
I love you, and I always will
So tell me baby, how do you feel?
