Journey

by dezi   Apr 4, 2006

A long windy road traveled by so few
Filling with darkness, emptiness shoots through.
Innocence escapes, overwhelming fears
All I can see are these damn tears.

Shadows linger in the night, sounds within arise.
Silent contempt, the smiles are obviously lies.
Screams can be heard, my path is unclear.
The stench of the end draws near.

With every breath I breathe and each step I take.
I have realized my biggest mistake.
There isn't anything to be done,
I refuse to see the rise of the sun.

Every ounce deep inside cries out to survive
I don't know if i am strong enough, I just want to hide.
Let me go, let me leave...fate will give me a new destiny.
This world holds no place, I lost my will to believe.

My journey begins, so cold and lonely
I take a step forward as I look behind,
All that is lost, I will never find.
There isn't anything left, I built this wall in my mind.

Memories are suppressed, dwelling upon the past.
I need to lay it to rest, regrets fill me up too fast.
Forgetting is what I must do, but how do I begin?
where do I start? I can't keep lying to my heart.
