From A to B

by Nearly but not quite   Apr 4, 2006

To nowhere,
From no place
But some don't dare
In this non-race.

No fear,
Save that of falling
Falling from here,
Yet strangely un-daunting.

Five thousand feet up
Crowded but alone
In silent rows we sup
Disconnected without phones.

Far from home
Getting nearer
Not really alone,
Just in living in tears.

Do I want to arrive?
I could stay in the air,
For this I have strived,
But I don't want to get there.

In this transition
Hung in the air
In this position,
Are we anywhere?
