Dear World

I do not want to live today
Or even breathe the clean air
That so many must go without.

I do not wish to see today
All the money wasted on material things
To one-up those others envy.

I do not wish to hear today
Of another idol succumbed to temptation
In the midst of a selfish battle.

I do not wish to speak today
About what we already know
And who we should be fighting for.

I do want to hope tomorrow
That today will be a lesson learned
And a lesson to be shared.
