Black and Silver

by The Black Angel Lloyd Rose   Apr 4, 2006

Sweet sixteen; a lonely girl,
Unaware of what was to unfurl.
Straight A’s to make her parent’s proud,
First in the class; ahead of the crowd.
Blissful though she was not,
Happy thoughts she had long forgot.
She gave it her all to make the world happy,
But deep inside her heart felt sappy.
No one to love; no one seemed to care,
Surrounded by people but, none were really there.
She sat alone every single night.
She told herself it would be alright.
She had hope yet so little was left,
Such unstable thoughts; so bereft.
Under the moonlit sky,
She began to question a final goodbye.
She held a pistol in her hand
Wondering if someone could understand.
She let not a tear trickle from her eye.
She had no regrets; she was ready to die.
This girl just needed a friend;
Then perhaps her heart could mend
Yet no one came; they pushed her away.
A black and silver handgun fired a bullet that day.
