Footprints on my heart

We walked along the sand,
The night was cold and dark.
It was a secret meeting place,
Where you began to leave your mark.

Hand in hand so tight,
Not wanting to let go.
Saviouring every moment.
A moment you were my beau.

Sitting by the wall,
I held you close to me.
Feeling every heartbeat,
Only place I want to be.

We knew we had to leave,
Time was not our friend.
As reality was approaching,
Knew this moment had to end.

As we walked back to our car,
I wished that time would stop.
So I could stay forever,
Though knew that I could not.

We both lived different lives,
Though we were once united.
A bond we will share forever,
My life forever enlighted.

So there will only be footprints,
At a place where time was shared.
They will remain on my heart forever,
A memory of someone I'll always care.
