Boast

by Keith Sears   Apr 5, 2006

Boast boast away.

Tell me how you are so modest, so placid, so easy going.

Tell me about your kindness, your niceness, your cleverness.

Tell me you are good, compassionate and charitable.

Tell me how you never complain, never judge, never worry.

Have you now convinced yourself? Have you had your praise? have you gained your respect?

I will be convinced, I will give you praise, I will respect you.

But finally!

I will assume the opposite and be nearer the truth of you.
