Dark Dreams

by Jemma   Apr 5, 2006

A thousand miles of upward streams
Eternities searching melancholy dreams
Missing smiles and forgotten tears
Each of us dwelling in our darkest fears

Throw laughter like knives, the hearts at the core
While its wandering, always needing more
But nothing is given without more pain
Nothing is done without something to gain

The clouds are darker, blacken my heart
The watchers are waiting with their black art
Needed only in the worst of our times
To release in its fury the light that still shines

Slowly so slowly the clouds roll away
The poisons are lost and can no longer stay
It’s freedom tomorrow so drink up your fill
Lest yesterday is woken, and waits
