Oh!!! My, struggle of a single mother to
say the least. I dont know how you do it
yet you all still get it done.

    Please remember the sun
must always shine after the rain
    ^
If all dead beat dads could read and
understand only just these two lines?

It hurts so bad to think a father would
deny his child no matter what he feels
about the mother. It is very true after
the (storm) divorce or separation the
(sun) son will always need support and
    leadership.

A very sad write that has to be said and
    heard written brilliantly, excellent work.
Thank you for sharing and Write On,
    Bogie

Laura... This is an amazing, beautiful and powerful write!!! A thought for you... We are where we are... Remember that when someone tries to look at you and criticise! You must do a wonderful job as a mother, I know my wife is a wonderful mother, but we have it easier as we are always together looking after our little girl. Be strong girl, you have a warm heart and this poem shines out in your favour. Beautifully written :)

This is realism at its best Laura, such truth - may I ask if this from an experience of your own? I was a young Mum and I could relate to this all to well lord only knows the struggles i have endured and my partner has been around and 100% supportive. I honestly feel for the young women pulling through on their own trying to make ends meet and deal with the emotional side of becoming a mother for the first time...this is was deep for me perhaps more so than for other readers...its reality...Great write my friend looking forward to reading more of your work :o)

This is an amazing poem. very true now these days. I mean there's teenagers and i'm speaking for myself also that there's some that do get pregnet i mean i'm not but i am or was close to it.. but then there father leaves them behind and makes it feel like dude, you just wanted to have se.x with me and now your just gonna leave me because i'm having your baby, you know what i mean. And i really hope some guy will read this and be like what are we doing or something to get something across.

but i do think that raising a kid alone by being a single mom is better then being with a father that doesn't want the kid in there life but just stays with the mom for no reason. well something like that.. well Laura you did an amazing job once again. Your very talented. keep it up. keep on writing. love always and forever.

A sincere write. This is quite truthful these days and it's good you write a comforting poem to those who need it.

In places the rhymes could have been better, such as stanzas three and five.
The flow needs some looking at too.

    Good write.

    "Times are very hard
    and you need assisstance
    Never give up hope
    always have persistence"

i love that... its a beautiful quote... i cant believe how amazing your poems are. You could definately get published -Jen-

I can relate to this as I was a single mom for 6 years before I met my wonderful husband. At times I felt overwhelemd with work, school and taking care of children. In the end it all paid off though. I believe the struggles in your life can make you a stronger person. Thank you for sharing your poetry, it is an inspiration to many.
