Say goodbye at dawn.

by StEve   Apr 5, 2006

Said goodbye at dawn.
He held me close.
I could hear his heart beating.
He wrapped his arms around me
I always loved our meeting.

His chest was broad
His shoulders, so strong
His voice came in whispers
Though he never spoke long.

I told him I loved him
he smiled and agreed.
He asked me if I had any wish
If I had any greed.

"How can I- " I spoke
"when I have you so near
When you are with me
I have nothing to want, nothing to fear."

"I am safe in your visions
Of beauty and grace
I know no other wisdom
Like that I see in your face"

He held me tight with these words
He stretched his wings and pulled away
I begged him not to go
Not to leave me for the day.

"I must "he said
"For the night ends soon
For the sun is to bright
I live only by the moon."

He kissed me soft
He stepped away
He left me again
He let me lay.

I missed my fallen angel
without him I always cried
For without my Lucifer
I would surely have died.

I was safe in his arms
safe in his song
He will come to me again
It shall not be long.
