What You Were

by Salinity   Apr 5, 2006

Muted dances
you rehearsed

bile-eaten hearts
you painted

A delusion angel
you portrayed

Modern day Romeos
you incinerated

You swept me off my head
and eased me down on my floor

Then you collapsed my world
and left me permanently
suspended
unintending
to ever permeate
this mire of
heartbreak
in which I'm drowning.
