A vampire's surrender

Everyday I lie as if dead
for I can't come out of my death bed.

The light is something lost to me
for I live in the dark you see.

The night is my home
and I've lost all hope.

My life is endless
and at the same time worthless.

I wish I didn't feel cold
then again I have no soul!

I try to embrace my new life
but its something I despise.

And as I walk in the dark
animals hide and dogs start to bark.

For they sense when evil is near
and that's what they fear.

Who would want to be with me?
No one as far as I can see.

When will my misery end?
I don't know if it can.

I'm cursed to live forever
so unto the darkness I'll surrender.
