Mother and Child

by Elise Johnson   Apr 6, 2006

I see a picture
so cozy and warm
a mother and child
she protects him from harm.

The baby cries
mom holds him close
when it comes to a child
the mother is needed most.

She rocks him to sleep
she holds him with care
no matter what happens
she will always be there.

She watches him grow
from a child to a man
through out his life
she is his #1 fan.

She gets to the age
where her body is through
as they say their goodbyes
he whispers, "I love you!"

He sits by her grave
and wipes a tear
then he points to his heart
"You will forever be here!"
