Impatiently waiting...

by Iola   Apr 7, 2006

The things in life that you can give yourself can’t be given by a man.
Jewelry and watches, money and gold are an overrated scam.
Being the social butterfly that your are will never bring lasting joy.
Even the baby or job that you so desperately crave may be the things that destroy.

Beauty and talent and admirable looks won’t guarantee inner peace.
All the riches in the world can’t buy your way out of disease.
A loving family or a dear old friend may help in times of need.
But these won’t calm your inner voice or make life more discreet.

Action sports and adrenalin jumps will not make you love yourself.
Running around and pleasing others will not turn back time – the clock remains on twelve.
Faking a smile will not fool your heart – but it may trick your corrupted soul.
How long will you be impatiently waiting for other things to make you whole?
