Emptness

by Kari   Apr 8, 2006

Purged form society
Divorced from reality
and the silent children cry no more

No more will the tears spill
across a face of a broken heart
no longer will blood crust
the earth that was already
filled with blood to began with.

No more will the lone wolf howl
no longer will the sound of a gun
piercing the night sky,
be heard again

Instead what is left behind
is a howling abyss,
screaming into the empty world.

A world in which loneliness
feeds on children one by one
eating them alive,
covering then with fear
and then leaving behind
an empty shell.

Here there is no redemption
no way out, no hope
there is only
what was, and what could have been
and that left behind feeling of
sadness that never goes away

The screams of the children
screaming for their parents
hoping that they will wake up,
to nice warm beds and hot cocoa
with a roaring fire and parents to comfort them.

Only to wake to and realize ti was only a dream
and that's all it ever will be is a dream
when it comes down to it
there is no hope, no way out
only a howling abyss.
