Finishing our love

by Sorefromreality   Apr 9, 2006

This madness must stop
these thoughts cant go on anymore
i have to cease this sadness
and slam all those open doors

i have to tally up the points
and declare the final winner
i must write you off
spin the last movement on the spinner

i have to stop this dreaming
for this love cannot continue
not many people know how i feel
there are very very few

i have to record the last entry
in my diary of us
i have to stop loving
and convince myself it was lust

but no matter how hard i try
and no matter how many attempts i make
to get you off my mind
i don't seem to have what it takes

Again, i love this poem. how you compare love to a game in parts, and talk about slamming all the open doors.

and i know, it can be hard for you to finally get over him, but eventually you will. i know how it can feel to open up to someone, and then be betrayed, and it really hurts. atleast for me, its one of the worst pains i can ever feel. just remember if you ever need to talk, you have me to vent on...

and as for the 'on a brighter note' parts, i say those after telling you that you will feel better. its like im shifting gears from talking about sadness and depression, to praising you for your great poems.....wow long comment haha

But you see thats where youre wrong...you DO have what it takes. just realize that if one of you ended it, it means that at one time or another it wasnt gonna work out, and in my opinion, sooner is better than later....
definitely a good poem nonetheless, the reference to love as a game is unique. keep it up
