Temptation

Were you sent to tempt me?
From a power from up above.
Like the apple from Eden's garden,
Not meant to fall in love.

Now I am tortured,
This my punishment to be.
For giving into temptation,
What is next for me?

We are told not to give in,
Always remember to stay strong.
Live a life so simple,
I know I went so wrong.

In the garden of Eden,
Adam and Eve were told.
Don't eat the forbidden apple,
Or from him you would be scold.

They could have lived in paradise,
Never wanting for anything.
The temptation was too great,
Now we all must live in sin.

My life was very simple,
Stable and happy as well.
Why did I give into temptation?
Am I now sent straight to hell?

Or will I live a sad life?
Never be happy again.
Atone for sins I committed,
Sadness until the end.
