Happy Birthday Depressed

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Apr 9, 2006

Happy birthday depressed
Take another pill
Try to be happy
You always look ill
Just get through this day
You've got time to kill
Have a happy birthday
Or at least play along
Try to smile at least
When they sing that stupid song
Happy birthday depressed
Try to smile for once
All the pictures and laughter
Just act happy once
The day will go by
The people will leave
Then you wont have to act
Go back to being me
Happy birthday depressed
Get dressed up and look nice
Slap on your fake smile
A laugh or two would be nice
Say cheese for the camera
Say thanks for the gifts
Take another pill
And hope your happiness it lifts
Try to put your head up
Say thanks for coming and show
Your fake smile
Fake a laugh and your happiness
It will only last for a while
Try not to be sad
Don't bring down the party
I know you didn't want it
But it's here so keep it going
You can be sad without others
Knowing
Just put on your act
Get through another day
Then when it's over you can live
Your own way
You can smack off that smile
And box up your fake laughter
No more acting happiness after
But for now chin up
Try to make a happy face
Fake happy birthday to you
Another year of nothing
After the guests stuffing their
Faces
With the cake your mom made
And posing in pictures
With the remaining people that
Stayed
Happy birthday depressed
Just like all the rest
Put on an act
Put on a show
Until all the people go
Take the gifts
Back up to your room
And go back to your thoughts
Of misery and doom
Go back to being sad
No one else to put on a show for
Just take another pill
Wait for the song to end
Go back to being miserable
Just wait until the end
So happy birthday to me
Happy birthday depressed
Fake a smile and a laugh
Like you've done with the rest
