Just a shadow

He sank last night.
in the break of dawn.
when the sun shone no more.
and the day felt so long.

he dropped last night.
with one final scream.
he wished he could wake up.
to find it was a dream.

he cried last night.
as his soul tore apart.
he could only scream.
as he broke his heart.

he shone last night.
for the very last time.
as he lost all control.
of his body and his mind.
