The Chosen Few

by Michael D Nalley   Apr 9, 2006

The Chosen Few

To the chaste chosen few
Granted the grace to pursue
Piety and persistent purity
Steadfast in sacred security.

Belief in the warmth above,
Hope in the greatest love,
To be among the chosen few
Forgiveness is the avenue.

All the people who have sinned,
Would be powerless to rescind
Without the Son's most sacred fire
There's nothing to lift us higher.

He chose to live among us and die
By the voices wanting to crucify,
Many are called but few are chosen,
Reject the Son, and a heart is frozen.

Very good poem. A good lesson to be learned. I like the religious touch to this.

I dont think this is your best work. there are a few very minor changes i would make to help it sound smoother, i.e. "heart's" to "heart is" in the last line. but it was still a good poem.
