I knew it would come
The time for you to leave
You stood there holding me
As my heart started to grieve

The day was perfect
But perfect days never last
I enjoyed every second
Laying next to you in the grass

The sky was blue
And the birds were singing
Now all I can pay attention to
Is my eyes stinging

Spending the day together
Soaking up the sun
Every second was worth it
Spent with my loved one

I feel so much pain
Now that you're gone
I will see you again
You're my reason to press on

I'm not sure what I'd do
If you left me for good
You say I'd be fine
But I don't think I would

Your love is holding me up
Keeping me alive
Without you there
I wouldn't survive

It kills me to see you
Yet without you I'd die
This is such a tragic cycle
The cycle of Goodbye

    Ah, i love your poems! so simple and sweet, yet true in the most cruel way.
    and i also love how you name your poems! your wording is just really eye catching and it makes me want to read them.
    I enjoy a creative title almost as much as the poem itself, and you always deliver.
