You really have a problem understanding me
You misinterpret everything, me especially
The words I say the things I do none of this gets through to you
I told you that I love you, I told you that I care
I've shown it in a million ways & still you're not prepared
To open up, to let me in to see what's false or real
Instead its all pretence and you continue to conceal
The person that I know's inside, but then that's just how it is
I don't understand and I'm so confused all I want's to be with you
What I want and what you want all seem like poles apart
Why can't we find some common ground a place for us to start?
Or again is that too easy, why must it be so hard?
It seems with me you're always on your guard
All I want is to love you, to show how much I care
Am I asking all too much or am I so unfair?
Guess I am, I ask too much, you can't understand
The more I ask the more you see it like some kind of demand
And then when I stay away you ask me what is wrong
No wonder I'm confused and we never get along
You do your thing I'll do mine maybe only then both of us will find
Some kind of sanity a certain peace of mind
