Depression

by Silent   Apr 11, 2006

As the sunrise
Is cast onto my eyes
So to the pain
Of another days demise

For the past behind me
Offers no relief
From the burden
Of this relentless beast

With no feeling better
Than tormenting pain
I plaster a smile
Onto this hollow frame

For all I want
Is to somehow be free
And return to those days
That once I could see

But I am buried here
In the choking depths
Of memories lost
And forgotten regrets

Waiting for life
To reach out a hand
Calling my name
And know who I am

But till then I drowned
In this endless pain
Until the sun
Must rise again

I can relate to this as one who lives in the past days of happier times, but everyday is a new chance. It is merely a matter of perspective. My favorite motto is 'Rise above your mood', no matter how difficult.Never give in or give up.

    Peace, Poetry, & Power,
