Desires

by Spoken Silence   Apr 11, 2006

Naivety in the punishment for foolish hearts
For indulging in fantasies of secrets left kept..
Promises are nothing but lies with pretty little ribbons
and with these accents we decorate our lives
disguising the horrid truth
trying to erase a haunting memory.
Our minds play pointless games with fate
As tortured souls scream to drown out the silence.
Tears fall and flood a broken world of deception
As the angel of death comes down
stealing those suffocated by their own desires

I like how short it was yet you were able to convey your meaning into it. It had an impact on me with how strongly you worded it. Nicely done! ^_^

This is awesome stuff courtney, it's really complex and though I don't understand it all I can see there is much meaning hidden in here. I also think that cause it's short you've packed a whole heap into it, this is very effective because it really makes you think as all your ideas are thrown out. Nice poem :)
