The Unforgotten

by Sara   Apr 12, 2006

The rain fell upon the ashen ground washing away the pain. I stepped in the middle where the house once was. It would never be the same. Drenched, I closed my eyes taking it all in. Ghosts whispered their secrets to me about what they did in sin. The wind sung low mixing with their cries. I breathed in deeply trying to sort truth from lies. None of what the deceased told me was helpful. I opened my eyes at last feeling more dreadful.
"There must be another way," I told myself as I began to give in to the winds way.
Leaving the dead grounds I was more lost than before. I looked around through time, through space, and there was nothing more. I will forever hunt this universe endlessly, but it seems I will never be able to find your memory.
