If Only In My Dreams...

It is said dreams come to those who wait;
So today I must be patient for my fate.
I have dreamt of nights without tears;
I have dreamt of chasing away my fears.
Oh, how! I have been lonely for so long;
That now my dreams...don't belong.

I believe that my shadows follow me at night,
Preventing me to live and use my sight.
My dreams not dreams but nightmares,
Of earlier days of the ones that I cared.

I rarely dream anymore; I have nothing to dream.
Presently, I fight it every night...so it seems.
I know dreams are for believers unlike me;
Dreams are for followers; what do they see?

What is there to wish for, what is there to believe?
When your hopes and dreams are only there to deceive.
They say dreams come to those who wait and aspire,
But I feel I can't wait anymore...I am so tired.

How long do I have to pause in anticipation?
Just to wait for my fate...in a crazy fixation.
I don't know when a dream becomes reality;
And when MY hopes and wishes become actuality.

So I wait and wonder what is to become;
My life...my fate...I feel numb.
So if patience is what I have to do;
Then forever...I will wait for you!
