That Is When

by midmid   Apr 12, 2006

When all the twinkling stars no longer twinkle
And when the sun its light from us denies
When an old face while smiling does not wrinkle
And when a caged bird longs not for the skies
And when the snow turns black and the rain pink
When trees blossom in fall and die in spring
When stones if tossed into the sea don't sink
When Sunday bells if rung chose not to ring
And when the bee no longer loves the flower
And the day no longer follows the night
When the secret is revealed of love's power

When a newborn's first smile looses its might
Is when you'll in my heart no longer dwell
s'when our love be no more in heaven but hell
